How to connect to internet from VMware player VPC

Most of the time you don’t want your VPC(Virtual PC) to be connected to the internet for several reasons but there are times when you need to connect to the internet.For instance I was getting this error on VPC that copy of window is not genuine but in reality it had a genuine copy of Microsoft Windows Server R2 but anyway I could not activate it or verify it as it was not connected to the internet.This is what I did to activate Windows Server 2008 installed on VPC.Went to Open Network and Sharing CentreOpened Local Area network and connectionsPropertiesthen Internet Protocol Version 4 IPV4> Properties and then selectedObtain an IP address automatically and also setObtain DNS Server Address Automatically and then I was able to connect to the internet and activate Windows.
